AIM:  To provide personnel with an awareness of the hazards associated with     using chemicals in the workplace and the precautions they should follow to ensure safe working practices

The course will cover the following elements:

  • The Health and Safety at Work Act, 1974
  • Control of substances hazardous to health regulations
  • Hazard identification
  • Routes of entry
  • Exposure levels
  • Reporting procedures
  • Accidents and incidents
  • Control of spillages

By the end of the course, delegates will understand and be able to comply with the need for COSHH Regulations, and undertake to carry out assessments in accordance with these regulations.  Delegates will be able to identify hazardous products and materials, implement effective control  measures in the workplace and be able to undertake efficient monitoring and health surveillance activities.  Finally to appreciate the duties and responsibilities of the employer and employee.  This course is of one day duration and is designed to accomodate a maximum of 12 delegates.
