	AIM: To help delegates understand legal requirements relating to the investigation and reporting of accidents and how this can be used to in a practical manner to ensure compliance with safety systems and procedures.

This course covers the following areas of concern:

Understanding how accidents & near misses occur
Understanding the key requirements of the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations.
Taking written & verbal statements.
Obtaining other relevant evidence.
Methodologies & application techniques.
Legal requirements for the reporting of injuries & dangerous occurrences.
The importance of maintaining accident reports,records and statements etc.

The importance of investigating all accidents and near misses the monitoring and auditing of accident statistics to ensure the achievement and maintenance of safety and legal protection can not be underestimated. This one day course concentrates upon the key requirements for establishing systems for accident investigations, thus ensuring accountability for failures within systems at all levels within the company structure.
